Thursday night saw our U15s bow out of the Graham Cup at the semi-final stage, narrowly beaten by Lisburn. As defending champions, it wasn’t the result they were hoping for, but they’ve shown their quality again this year with another strong campaign. A great group who continue to improve — they’ll be back.
The 2s also faced disappointment, going down at Waringstown in the Junior 1 T20. With several players — including key U15s — unavailable, it was a tough ask. Ultimately, it was the earlier washout in the group that cost them the chance of a semi-final spot. That said, the effort’s been good, and the squad continues to evolve.
On Saturday, the 1s produced a much-needed statement at home to Templepatrick. Perhaps inspired by the summer solstice and the longest day of the year, the top order finally came to life — Mo Aahil and Ally Shields (104) shared a superb 194-run opening stand as we posted 267. A total that proved comfortably out of reach for the visitors. A comprehensive win, and one that keeps top six hopes alive.
Elsewhere, the 3s exited the Lindsay Minor Cup away to Armagh — a frustrating result against a team from the league below. Once again, a youthful side took the field and gained valuable senior cricket experience, but across the club we’re feeling the strain and could really use a few more adult players in the mix.

Sunday morning brought another boost as the Ladies made it three wins on the bounce, this time seeing off CSNI by 18 runs. Rebecca Nield anchored the innings with runs at the top, while Amy Boyd picked up wickets to help seal the win. Under the calm leadership of Gracie Keenan, the group is taking shape nicely — committed, balanced and beginning to string results together.
Over at Shaw’s Bridge, the men’s Challenge Cup campaign came to a halt with a heavy defeat to Instonians. Despite a solid batting effort — Mickey Copeland (88) and TK (66) the standouts in a total of 238 — the hosts chased it down without losing a wicket.
There was a dramatic finish at Lisburn, where the 3s tied their league fixture in a low-scoring contest. Luke Crothers top-scored with 40, and every run mattered as the points were shared in a gritty, hard-fought match.
The 5s were in action on Sunday at Bangor, Thomas Atkinson hit a solid 38 in another battling effort that ended in defeat.
Amid the mixed fortunes, there was one piece of standout news — congratulations to Josh Corbett on his selection for the Ulster Schools team for this week’s interpros at Merrion CC in Dublin. A deserved recognition for his continued progress and a proud moment for both Josh and the club.
