Whilst the cricket last weekend was a frustrating washout, that wouldn’t fully reflect just how busy the place has been with a number of thing to report.
Firstly, the first of our bi-annual Beer & Cider festivals went of with a bang on Sunday as a bumper crowd enjoyed the (mostly) dry weather and drinks/music/food offerings available. Chairman Dean McDonald, Bar Manager Craig McBride and team worked tirelessly in advance, during and afterwards to ensure another vitally important fundraiser went off without a hitch…
As mentioned elsewhere, the W2s got our competitive season off and running with a comfortable win against CSNI at The Green on Monday night whilst elsewhere on the grounds a number of coaches were working with various youth groups on batting, bowling and fielding drills – excellent work being done there with the boys and girls.
We’ve finally had a blast of good weather which has not only dried the grounds but will hopefully allow us to start getting rid of some of the backlog of fixtures – starting this weekend with a triple-header for the M1s to start their season.
