Victor A Metcalfe
Having been introduced to cricket in the area, Victor played his games at North of Ireland in 1932 but by 1934, and persuaded by Walter Wishart with whom he had worked in Kenya, he transferred to The Green for 3 seasons. He was an accomplished batsman, usually opening the innings and scored vital runs in the Senior Challenge Cup wins in those years:
In 1934-36 his 1st Round scores of 79,38 and 33; 2nd Round scores of 89,46 and 45; Semi-Final scores of 108*,and 29 meant good years although his Final scores didn’t impress. He had made his contributions to a hattrick of wins.
