The club are delighted to announce the signing of South African pace bowler Kerwin Mungroo as our replacement overseas player for the 2024 season.
Standing at a towering 6’6″ Kerwin is sure to enjoy the quality pitches at The Green when spearheading our attack this year!
The regular new ball bowler for the North West province in CSA Division 1, he also played for the Durban based Dolphins in the former franchise competition.
He was picked up in the 2018 Mzansi Super League Draft by the Paarl Rocks. In his 2nd game for the Rocks, he picked up Chris Gayle and Reeza Hendricks in the space of 4 balls having been tossed the new ball by Faf du Plessis and he also represented the SA Emerging Players on their tour of Sri Lanka in 2018.
He has extensive experience of UK conditions including playing for Wem CC in the West Midlands and in Lancashire last year, when he took an impressive 40 wickets for Leyland CC.
An accomplished tailender that can hit a long ball, a fully qualified coach and general all-round good-egg (excuse the Easter pun), we are delighted to have him on board and look forward to his arrival in Comber in time for the start of the season.
The club would like to thank Rob Humphries and James Hine at WSX Cricket for their assistance in getting the deal done.
