Easter Monday

Happy Easter to all our members and friends.

There has been a marginal improvement in the weather so the grounds are slightly drier, but we’re still a way off getting out there – particularly the top ground, which resembles some sort of swampland (see top image) from a David Attenborough documentary!

But we plough (excuse the pun) on and do what we can safe in the knowledge that Gatch and the grounds guys will be doing all they can to get us on the grass as soon as possible.

We were disappointed to learn last week that Dian Forrester won’t be able to join us this season as he received a quite unexpected call-up to the South African Academy – obviously a very talented player and we wish him well – it would have been nice to see him in a North Down shirt but maybe another time…

We’re delighted to have signed South African opening bowler Kerwin Mungroo in his place and you can read more about that HERE

The March 100 Club was drawn on Saturday night and the winners were:

  1. Martin Ferris £250
  2. Pamela Parker £100
  3. George Harper £100
  4. Sandra Hanna £50 bar prize (pictured)

A big thank you to everyone that took advantage of our ‘early-bird’ membership rates, the revenue generated will help with early season cashflow when lots of large bills appear in the treasurer’s inbox!

For the rest, please complete your membership registration HERE as soon as possible…

A reminder that the Info Session for anyone interested in our women’s and girls cricket takes place next Sunday at The Green…
