The club hosted its annual awards night at the TT Bistro on Saturday, September 28th, and it was an excellent evening organized by Ryan Haire. Attendees enjoyed the usual fare of speeches, prizes, and plenty of fun.
A special thank you to our club sponsors, especially Nicky Caughey and his staff, for the fantastic meal provided.
In addition to our regular awards, we introduced a new prize this year in memory of the late Roy Thompson. His family was in attendance to witness our Under 15 coach, Steven Crothers, being named the inaugural winner of the Thompson Shield for Outstanding Contribution to Coaching.
Ryan Galway was a very deserving winner of the Shields Cup for Clubperson of the Year, being instrumental in getting winter nets established for junior teams, skippering the 2nd XI to a 4th place finish in Junior League 1, and working hard to improve our social media presence.
1st XI scorer Andrew Frater received a special mention for the excellent voluntary work he does in the scorebox.
Under 15 skipper Alex Fielding took home the Russell Cup for Captain of the Year, and Joel Parker was awarded the McVeigh Cup for Most Improved Player, as well as the Under 15 Player of the Year.
A full list of winners will be available at the club AGM at the end of the month. Thank you to everyone who made the evening a success!
